“In a world of horrors, what is holy is continuing to seek the sacred in another.

I see you. Name your pain. Validate your wound.

Call forth all you need, as long as you need, to grieve angry and to pursue repair. If you needed permission, here it is.”

— J.S. Park

I am convinced we all make sense in the context of our experiences and story. As our individual stories are embedded in larger stories and systems, I practice therapy in a relational psychodynamic way which allows me to bring the perspective to our work together that all of our personal and collective stories, the ways we show up in our lives and the world, and what we need to flourish are as unique as our fingerprints and worthy of recognition and care. Therefore, one size doesn’t fit all. I draw from multiple modalities in my work, but I find that systems theory, attachment theory, and interpersonal neurobiology are often in the mix. While I strive to show up authentically every time we meet, I also try to help you bring as much of yourself as you feel safe enough to share to the therapeutic space where we can collaborate, explore, and discover together. I work hard to find the unique blend of theory and practice that will facilitate your healing and flourishing.

My work is to bear witness to all you have experienced and survived, to help you discover/uncover the power and beauty of your full self, and to resource you in ways that help you connect your dots, trust yourself and your experience, feel grounded in who you are, and be capable of showing up in all aspects of your life with courage, creativity, and authenticity.

As a co-founder of The Aftermath Agency, I believe any approach to our mental and physical health and well-being needs to address and include the whole person (mind, body, and spirit) and our relationship, to ourselves, others, the larger world, and, if you attend to the spiritual, to your concept of Divine/Other. I am mindful of how all the parts of ourselves, our roles, and our contexts shape and influence us and I actively seek to honor and respect all aspects of your being and what you bring, respecting and learning from our differences as well as identifying with what we share in our humanity. At Aftermath, we are passionate about finding ways to increase your own choice and agency, for many of us have experienced disempowerment and loss of those things. In my personal life as well as in subcultures and institutions I have been part of, I have experienced the abuse of power and am sensitive to Among the topics that might surface in our time together are anxiety, depression, grief, shame, identity, sexuality, spirituality, abuse and traumatic experiences, chronic issues, relationship dynamics, life transitions, and the impact of our early stories (to name just a few topics).  I am not afraid of the dark and I can walk with you into it, whatever that is for you. As we look together at what you bring, my hope is to help you see yourself with more kindness and be curiosity, as well as to empower you, increase your agency, and help you figure out what flourishing would look like for you.

I come to therapeutic work later than some, largely because life didn’t go as planned for me or my family. I began my career in another helping profession and while I bring all my experience in that realm as seasoning and translatable experience, the healing I have experienced in therapeutic spaces is what I am currently passionate about facilitating for others. I am thrilled to be doing this work alongside others who continue to do their own healing work and offer their own gifts, expertise, and perspectives.

I love being alone, but also enjoy the company of others (particularly with good food or fun involved!), making art, writing, gardening, cooking, or finding some new treasure at a thrift or antique store. Relationships with my family members and the community I have built are a priority for me. My own personal work involves increasing my ability to play and laugh, as those things got stunted for me. Most days, I start the day with a pour over coffee, some form of meditation, and a cold plunge. I continue to find it all matters, every little bit of it. Let’s find out what matters for you, every little bit of it.
